Favorite Mock Memory: It was a dark and stormy night…
Actually it was the last round of the Duke tournament. The prosecution had called my primary *and* secondary witnesses, leaving Peyton and me to do our tertiary direct. A witness who made almost no sense for defense, whose direct we didn’t have memorized, and which had only been 3 minutes long when written. And we were the first call for our side.
Luckily we (like all HMTA members) had incredible skills and stunning good looks on our side. Using the measly ten minute recess before our case in chief, we threw together a completely new character and direct idea, went into the courtroom, and dragged our former despair out into a totally awesome 8 minute direct.
How You Got Into Mock Trial: I’d always wanted to do mock in high school, but lived too far to stay at school until 8 every night. So once I got to Harvard, I jumped at the chance to try it out. No regrets!
Favorite Accent: Way-too-Russian character attorney
What You Do When You’re Not Doing Mock Trial: When not doing mock trial, I can be found with a bunch of other off-duty mockers terrorizing Quincy dhall.
Failing that, I am probably watching a British TV show (Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who…) or Photoshopping an overly elaborate joke.
Your Most Wonderful Fun Fact: I can move my ears!
Also, did you know that a group of ferrets is called a business? A business of ferrets!
